Hold your reservations until the end.

Wed Jul 15, 2009, 9:56 PM
One thing that pisses me off more than anything, are those who put ideas down without careful consideration. People who don't feel the need to look at all aspects of a real, or even hypothetical situation.

It especially irks me when someone puts down THEIR OWN ideas because they don't believe they can succeed. Pessimism is only a useless hindrance to progress of any kind. Just as worthless though, is optimism. It fills your head with pipe dreams and doesn't allow for concentration or realistic goals.

Instead, I prefer to be a reactionist. I don't assume the worst; nor do I assume the best. The old addage "When you assume, you make an ASS of U and ME" is quite accurate.

As the title of this entry implies, it is often best to hold your opinions and reservations until you have all the facts upon which to base a sturdy hypothesis.

You shouldn't automatically assume something will fail because there is some sort of flaw with the initial plan. Nor should you assume it will succeed because there is no flaw at all.

Nothing is completely predictable, and nothing is set in stone. Rather than bashing somebody else's idea because you're afraid of the consequences, you should keep your assumptions to yourself and wait it out.

One last word of wisdom, is that you'll never be able to control everything. Ever. So instead, be prepared for all outcomes by assuming any outcome is equally possible.

I am relentless, unstoppable, driven. When I set my mind to something I truly care about, I accomplish it. I tend to rush head first into things, demolishing obstacles that get in my way. I am tolerant of neither stupidity nor ignorance. Certain types of people irritate the hell out of me and should die in a fire.

If you couldn't tell by now, I'm somewhat blunt with my statements and observations. I speak my mind no matter what; and if there are consequences, so be it.

You know the Energizer battery commercials, with the slogan "They keep going and going and going..."? Yeah, that's me. I like to push my limits both physically and mentally.

I'm a bit of a thrill-seeker. I love roller-coasters, dirt bikes, etc. My friends and I are into martial arts, zombies, and armed combat. Parkour and Free-Running are among our hobbies as well.

I am currently in the longest relationship I've ever held, and the happiest too. My girlfriend, Erin, is the most amazing person I've ever been fortunate enough to date.

Just as with other aspects of my life, I strive to be the best in relationships as well. I firmly believe in chivalry and gentlemanly conduct, despite the fact that the majority of men today do not.

I love many types of music, and thanks to several of my friends, I've come to have a rather large and unorganized library of songs.

One thing I like to do when I'm bored/frustrated is to rant. Many of them are anti-societal rants that point out some of the problems with today's culture.

Anime and manga used to take up a large portion of my free time, as did video games. That's not to say that I don't still enjoy these things, but that I've broadened my horizons and become better at differentiating my activities.

I'm getting paranoid that this not so little summary of myself is reaching its character limit, so I'll finish up by telling you that I'm a Graphic Journalism major, and a Web Design minor at Ball State University.

I also enjoy writing poetry and short stories, though in recent months I've had little to no inspiration.

Anyway, I hope you didn't get too bored reading all of this ^^;

Sounds fun! I was considering that for a while, but I think I like writing better.

I originally started out as a Computer Science major, but they were focusing on the programming aspect instead of web applications or multimedia, which are what I like best.

So I'm now a Graphic Journalism major and a Web Design minor (it isn't a major, otherwise I'd be specializing in that :P)
